Camacho: Porto favourites, but…

Ignacio Camacho believes that his Malaga teammates are in a good frame of mind to face up to Porto in the Champions League Last 16 this week.

The Anchovies travel out to Portugal this Tuesday for the first leg of their knockout fixture eager to pick up a positive away result, says Camacho.

“I have always said that for Malaga the Champions League is the premier competition and all the teams that have been it for so many years are obviously again the favourites,” began the midfielder to reporters today.

“Thereafter, a team against another team is 90 minutes at home and 90 minutes away, and we will try to get a result this week, so as to then close the tie at home.

“The team are positive going into this game. We had a great group stage and with the humility that we have had so far we can impose ourselves on a difficult game.

“So far we have done a great job, but why stop here? We played great teams in the first phase and we qualified and Porto, I believe, are no better than Milan.

“They are favourites for their history, but what happens in the field remains to be seen.”
