Carlo Ancelotti has downplayed Paris Saint-Germain’s tag as favourites, commenting on the challenge that Valencia represent this week.
Los Che play host in the first leg of the two sides’ Champions League Last 16 clash this Tuesday evening, with the French seen as slight favourites to progress.
“Valencia have great players, they are well organised and they have talent. Both they and us are in good form,” Italian Coach Ancelotti pressed at his pre-game conference this week.
“Valencia has rediscovered their form, Paris also, and this will be an open tie between them.
“I do not believe this will be a physical game, more tactical, it will be between two teams that will be very compact, so it will be important to have possession.
“PSG have a strong counter-attack, but our goal is to play good football, to have possession, to defend at Mestalla will be a good test for us in that regard.
“In the knockouts there is a lot of pressure and I hope that the team rediscover their character shown against Porto.”
