Vazquez to replace Paciencia – report

Fernando Vazquez is reportedly on the verge of agreeing to replace Domingos Paciencia as Coach at Deportivo.

Paciencia has left the club by mutual consent on Monday morning, after just six games in charge and four consecutive defeats.

With the club still sat in 20th position, President Augusto Cesar Lendoiro is reported as keen to bring in a man with La Liga experience.

TVG understand that he has already identified Galician native Vazquez as Paciencia’s immediate replacement.

The former Mallorca, Real Betis and Real Valladolid tactician has been out of club football since leaving Depor’s rivals Celta Vigo in 2007, with whom he got promoted to La Primera and took to UEFA Cup qualification, before embroiling them in an unsuccessful relegation fight.

Vazquez has reportedly already said yes to the assignment and will be presented to the media this afternoon.
