Alex Song will not meet up with the Cameroon squad this week after the advice of Barcelona club officials.
The midfielder was named in the squad to face Tanzania, but after suffering some physical discomfort over the weekend in his knee, has been advised to withdraw.
The club confirmed on Monday that the player has a sore knee and that removing him from consideration is a precautionary measure.
