Jose Antonio Reyes has made clear that Sevilla’s ambition is to win at Atletico Madrid on Thursday and then eliminate them from the Copa del Rey.
The former Atleti forward returns t the Vicente Calderon this midweek with Sevilla for the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final, intent on doing some damage.
“We go there with the mindset of playing a good game, whilst we know that it is a two-legged tie,” he told reporters today, hours before the team set out to Madrid.
“We are going to go for Atleti, we are prepared to eliminate them. They are winning every game in the first 45 minutes of their games, so above all in the first half we must be careful.
“We look forward to being in the Spanish capital, the important thing is to bring back a result from Madrid to settle the tie.
“What if they don’t have Falcao? I do not know if he will play, but there are always good players on the field for them.
“Anyway, the important thing is that we play well and win the game, regardless of who they play or who is not in their team.”
