Xavi pens new deal

Xavi Hernandez has officially put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Barcelona.

The midfielder was confirmed at the end of December, alongside Lionel Messi and Carles Puyol, as having agreed terms to extend his current deal by a further two years and today he has made that agreement official.

The recently turned 33-year-old, who has been with Barcelona since the age of 11, was pictured by the club on Monday afternoon signing his new contract alongside President Sandro Rosell.

In 14 years with the senior Barcelona side, Xavi has collected 20 major honours both domestic and international.
