Karanka: Team back to their best

Aitor Karanka has praised Real Madrid's performance after they defeated Getafe 4-0 at Santiago Bernabeu.

A second half goal from Sergio Ramos and a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo were enough for Los Blancos to claim the three points.

But the 39-year-old assistant has claimed that the team are nearing the level they reached last season.

“We are definitely noticing an improvement,” he told reporters in place of Coach Jose Mourinho.

“In the first half we had some good chances, but after scoring the first goal the team showed the sort of strength they demonstrated last year.

“We have regained confidence.”

He then commented on the Portuguese tactician's media silence and Ronaldo's injury scare in the second period.

“I do not know if Mourinho will come out and speak in a Press conference. He will come out when he sees fit.

“Cristiano was iced as a precaution, but he did not request to be taken off.”
