‘Valencia obligated to win’

Ernesto Valverde believes that Valencia are already at that time of the season where they must win games, starting with Deportivo away.

Los Che end a run of three games playing Real Madrid to travel out to Riazor this Saturday night in a game their Coach has identified as a ‘must win’.

“There is an obligation to win because we want to reach the top positions in the table,” declared Valverde to reporters today.

“Now we are entering a period of need because we are in the second round of fixtures, even if there are a lot of games still to come.

“This weekend we face the bottom team in the Division, it will be a very difficult game, they have changed their Coach, some things have changed about them and we must take this into account.

“With Oltra they played an offensive game, now they have changed, and what I have seen so far is that they are strong in defence and from there they base their game.

“This is an important match that we must pick up points in, they need the points too and the fans will be on their side, but I am focused only on the three for us.”
