Manolo Jimenez lamented the two red cards Real Zaragoza picked up in their 4-0 defeat at Sevilla on Wednesday night.
The Aragonese outfit were eliminated from the Copa del Rey with this second leg result, one that Jimenez believes was the result of Jose Fernandez’ early red card and then Fran Gonzalez second yellow just after the hour mark.
“I think that until the 25th minute and the expulsion of Fernandez, we played well,” commented the tactician afterwards.
“I do not know if the decision to send him off was fair, I have not seen it on television. They then scored and we were killed by Javi Alamo’s injury.
“I am proud of the image given by the players when we had 11 on the pitch, whilst with 10 it became difficult and then with nine it was impossible.
“Overall, we have been eliminated and we have to congratulate Sevilla, who will hopefully go far.
“We had a good Cup run, but I hate falling at this stage.”
