Buonanotte deal not over

Palermo CEO Pietro Lo Monaco has confirmed that his club are still interested in Malaga midfielder Diego Buonanotte.

The diminutive Argentine was thought to be on his way to Italy at the very start of the transfer window, only for negotiations to stall.

Lo Monaco commented last week that Palermo were ‘having second thoughts’ on the reputed €3m transfer, but he has confirmed today that it has yet to fall through.

“The talks are alive. It all depends on Malaga as the player is convinced and enthused by Palermo,” Lo Monaco told the Corriere del Mezzogiorno today.

It has been speculated that Malaga Coach Manuel Pellegrini is keen to keep Buonanotte in Spain due to current commitments in three competitions.
