Ramos angry for dismissal

Sergio Ramos has reflected that he was undeserving of a second yellow card in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey win over Celta Vigo.

Wednesday evening’s affair was otherwise a comfortable 4-0 affair for the capital club, who have now progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition 5-2 on aggregate.

However, Ramos was sent off midway through the second half and has been reported by the referee for repeatedly brandishing insults towards him, risking a lengthy ban as a result.

“I’m disgusted and annoyed, because we were playing the tie. I will not go into any debate over what happened,” declared the defender at full-time.

“It wasn't worthy of a second yellow card, but I'm not going to comment. That's what the televisions are for and everyone will have their own opinion.

“The best news is that the team has qualified for the next round, continues to win and is in all the competitions.

“We have to now focus on La Liga. We're going to try to close the gap with the leader. It isn’t impossible and we have an obligation to do so.

“Ronaldo? He is happy. He's very keen and positive. Very motivated. He’s one of the best in the world and deserves the affection of the fans and his teammates.

“Casillas’ issue with Mourinho? They're technical decisions and we’re not qualified to evaluate them. The boss decides and we focus on playing.

“We've all experienced that. Mourinho should know that he has the affection of all the footballers.”
