Negredo open to Premier League

Alvaro Negredo has dropped a hint that his time with Sevilla could be coming to an end and that England is his preferred destination.

The striker has been continually linked with a move away from Sevilla in recent seasons and, with the club posting a €15m loss for the last year, is seen as an asset likely to be sold to help balance the books.

“The Premier League is a great competition, it is true that I really like it and I believe that my style of football would be well-suited to it,” Negredo told Sky Sports this week, when discussing the possibility of leaving.

“There comes a time when a cycle comes to an end, I do not know when mine will, or if it will be sooner or later.

“I haven’t thought about it a lot, but I wouldn’t mind playing abroad.”

The Spain international revealed that he has already discussed the possibility of living in England with some of his international colleagues.

“I’ve spoken to the guys playing in England, mainly when we were at Euro 2012 together, because we had a lot of free time. I spoke to Mata and Torres and I know they really enjoy it.

“They have a different way of experiencing football over there compared with Spain. The players say it is easier to go out and about there.

“Here it is quite difficult to leave the house, but they say that there is not much scrutiny in England, and I like that.”
