Chelsea, City, United monitor Modric

Premier League sides Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly considering moves next summer for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.

The Croat has endured an inconsistent spell in the Spanish capital since his move from Tottenham Hotspur last year, with his Coach remarking that he is reluctant to play him in consecutive games as a result.

Subsequently, speculation in England is emerging that the 27-year-old could be set for a quick return to the Premier League.

Metro believe that both Chelsea and City are looking to improve their central-midfield options and are studying ways to try and sign the creative talent during the summer, whilst the Daily Mirror say that United are likewise interested in a possible move at the end of the current season.

Madrid paid an initial €30m to sign Modric last summer, with that potentially rising to €40m depending upon various clauses.
