Deportivo are set to complete the capture of former Atletico Madrid midfielder Paulo Assuncao this Monday.
The Brazilian footballer, who spent four years in the Spanish capital up until last summer, is set for a quick return to La Liga to aid struggling Depor’s fight against relegation.
The Galicians, who were reported last week as in talks with the 32-year-old over a January move, have confirmed via their official website that the transfer is set to be completed on Monday.
Assuncao arrived in A Coruna on Sunday evening and only has a medical examination this morning to complete, before signing off on his deal.
The midfielder negotiated to end his stay with Sao Paulo by mutual consent last week, meaning that Depor will not pay a transfer fee.
