Domingos Paciencia was delighted with his Deportivo side as they claimed a 1-0 win over Malaga in his first game in charge.
The 44-year-old claimed three points in his opening match as boss of the Turcos thanks to a wonder strike from Pizzi early in the second half.
And the former Braga man has claimed that there is still work to do if they are to avoid relegation.
“We've only had four training sessions together,” he told a Press conference. “And that clearly isn't enough.
“There are things we can improve on. Everyone has their own way of thinking about football, the way you want to play.
“The players have understood well, but we can do better than what we did here. We have the ability and the quality to do well.
“And I want to say 'well done' to [previous Coach Jose Luis] Oltra because his work here is also important.”
