Negredo ‘delighted to be in Seville’

Sought after Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has spoken of his happiness in playing for the Andalusian club.

Negredo has been linked with a move during January, with Chelsea one of the supposed suitors and Coach Michel admitting in a Press conference earlier today that Los Nervionenses would struggle to turn down a big bid.

“This club is special, with the fans that they have and the climate in the city,” said the former Almeria forward in an interview with UEFA.com.

“I always say that I am delighted to be here in Seville, and although we are not having a good time at the moment we hope to change this dynamic and again become the Sevilla that we were recently.”

The 27-year-old was then asked about the possibility of a transfer to a foreign club.

“I can never say never, but I’m very happy here. I’m very quiet, I’ll wait.”

Finally Negredo was asked about his hopes of a return to the Spanish national team.

“I am working to re-earn the trust of the Coach so that he will call me again. Competition for being in the Selection is healthy, and we are already seeing this season what the attacking players are doing.”
