Pedro confident of League lead

Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez is adamant that his team will not take their 16-point lead over Real Madrid for granted.

The Blaugrana have built up an impressive lead in La Liga over Jose Mourinho's men, but the 25-year-old has claimed that they will not take their foot off the gas, and also commented on the return of Coach Tito Vilanova.

“We have a good distance in the League,” he told Cope. “We have a lot of points to spare, but we will try to not reduce that distance.

“The team will continue with the same ambition as usual.

“Seeing Tito lead the team is the greatest joy possible for us,” he added. “I hope he's on the bench this Sunday [against Espanyol] as that's important for us.

“But most importantly is his health.”

The Spain international then remarked on his future at the Camp Nou club.

“I hope to be here for many more years. I am happy to be here.

“The club have always put their trust in me and I feel very valued and loved here.”

The diminutive attacker concluded by praising perennial transfer target Neymar.

“We know he can play here. But you never know if he can fit with the team.

“What is known is that he is one of the best in the world and deserves to play in the best team in the world.”
