Tito leads Barca training

Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova has reportedly overseen tonight’s training session, just 10 days after being released from hospital.

Vilanova recently suffered a relapse of the cancer in his parotid gland which he suffered from last year. He was operated on then released from hospital two days before Christmas.

The Blaugrana administration have stressed all along that the 44-year-old remained the club’s Coach and suggested that he may be able to combine his work with chemo and radio therapy.

This morning he made his first return to the club’s training base but the morning session, involving only those players called up for the Catalan national team's friendly against Nigeria, was presided over by his assistant Jordi Roura.

But according to Mundo Deportivo at tonight’s session, involving those not featuring in the friendly, Vilanova was in charge.

The news boosts hopes that the tactician will be fit to return to the bench for Sunday’s derby against Espanyol.
