Malaga preparing CAS case

Malaga are reportedly planning to submit their appeal against UEFA’s European competition ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport as soon as possible.

The club reacted angrily to the European game’s governing body for their ruling to ban Malaga from the next European competition it would otherwise qualify for in the coming four seasons.

Following on from their statement released in the wake of the ruling for failing to pay money owed to various parties – such as transfer fees to clubs and wages to players – the club are reported as putting together their legal case to try to revoke UEFA’s ruling.

AS report that the club see Champions League qualification for 2013-14 as essential to guaranteeing their financial survival.

Malaga are in financial disarray following their owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani’s decision to withdraw funding this summer.
