Eric Abidal has confirmed his return to full training at Barcelona and offered his full support to Coach Tito Vilanova.
The defender returned to full training with his Barcelona colleagues for the first time since undergoing a liver transplant in April, as part of his recovery from a tumour found on his liver the previous year.
On the same day as his return, Vilanova was confirmed by the club as having suffered a relapse in his own battle with a tumour.
“I can confirm that I have resumed training with the group,” posted the Frenchman on his Facebook account today.
“I hope to return soon to the pitch, but I cannot stop thinking about our Coach, Tito Vilanova – I wish lots of spirit to him and his family.”
