Spain remain at the top

Spain have held on to the number one spot in the FIFA World Rankings, with Radamel Falcao’s Colombia the most notable movers.

La Roja have been confirmed as ending the calendar year in pole position in the world following on from a period in which they only played the one game, a 5-1 win away to Panama.

Germany once more maintain second spot, with Argentina also keeping hold of third place. Italy have moved up one position to fourth, whilst Colombia are notable risers having climbed three positions to fifth in the world.

Having won the 2008 and 2012 European Championships either side of the 2010 World Cup, Spain have now held on to top spot in the world for 47 of the last 55 months.
