Oltra dissatisfied with point

Jose Luis Oltra revealed that he and his Deportivo players were left frustrated by the 0-0 result at home to Real Valladolid.

Depor played out the goalless draw at Riazor to extend their winless run in the Division to six games. Whilst it was a clean sheet to improve upon last week’s 6-0 reverse at Atletico Madrid, it was not what the Coach had only intended.

“The feeling I have is that we are all dissatisfied, especially by the result, after a long week of work in which we have tried to improve in order to win. The team has improved, but we have not won,” reflected Oltra at full-time.

“We have been much stronger and did a better job defensively, we had some work to do, although we were not overwhelmed, they also had some defending to do, but it has not given us the three points.

“We have to keep plugging away, working. This is a starting point. Now we have to try to get against Espanyol [on Thursday] all three points that we did not manage today [Monday].”

The Coach dropped goalkeeper Dani Aranzubia for German Lux for the game, in a technical decision.

“Everyone here, with their work day to day, wants to play and have that continuity. It pains me to have made the decision to drop Dani, who is not to blame for the conceding of goals, but in the search of a better defensive balance the situation was understood that we needed to change the ‘keeper.

“It is a very specific job and I do not like to change, you must have continuity in it.”
