Real Betis may have lost 2-1 on Sunday night, but their former player and President made clear that he was delighted with each player’s performance.
The team fell to the defeat at home to League leaders Barcelona, but Rafael Gordillo made clear his pride in them afterwards.
“We know that Barca are superior to all the teams, not just us. Normally against them, home games go well for us. Today we have to give a 10 to all the players, they have given their all when others would have left and taken fright,” enthused the former President, who now oversees the Real Betis Foundation.
“Betis were brave, they know how to do things a little differently to inflict damage on Barca. But, they must not fall. We are thrilled with this result, because you can see a 0-2 turn into 0-4 or 0-5 easily.
“The fans are happy, we have played a good game. With chances to score too. Barca are dominating this League.”
