Former Barcelona attacker Ronaldinho believes Lionel Messi is 'playing football at a level we've never seen before'.
The 32-year-old spent five years at Camp Nou between 2003 and 2008, and considers his one-time teammate to be the best in the world.
“For me, Messi is the best in the world,” he told ESPN. “During the past few years he has played football at a level we've never seen before.
“I feel proud as well, because I was there when it started and now he is the best.
“Messi knows he'll always have a place in my heart.”
The Atletico Mineiro man also complimented Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and his form over the past few years.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has been making history for many years,” he said. “But the best in the world is Messi.”
