‘Benfica can spring Barca surprise’

Benfica boss Jorge Jesus believes his side can spring a surprise when they face Barcelona at Camp Nou tomorrow.

The Portuguese team will play Tito Vilanova's men looking for the win that would assure them a safe passage into the next round.

And although the 58-year-old is confident that Aguias can claim the three points, he also knows that the Blaugrana are 'extraordinary'.

“We will need a bit of luck to win the game,” he told a Press conference. “We will certainly need it, but we have a chance to surprise Barca, that's for sure.

“Barca are a team out of the ordinary. I think along with Real Madrid they are the best team in the world.”

He also commented on Lionel Messi, who could break Gerd Muller's record of 85 goals in a calendar year on Wednesday.
“Messi plays the Barca way,” he said. “The club have an idea of how they want to play, and the players know that.

“Tomorrow, Barcelona will not play for Messi, but it will be Messi who will play for Barcelona.

“Even if he does have a chance to break a record tomorrow, it will not change the way they approach the match.”
