Emery: Our mission to win

Spartak Moscow will play with the intent of 'complicating life' for Barcelona tomorrow, according to their Coach Unai Emery.

The former Almeria and Valencia strategist has a habit of doing just that when his sides meet Barca but hasn't managed to beat them as yet. His new side are currently bottom of Champions League Group G with three points, and therefore in dire need of a victory at the Luzhniki Stadium tomorrow.

“The defeat in Glasgow has complicated things for Barcelona with regard to qualification,” Emery told a pre-match Press conference. “Our mission is to win.

“If we beat Barcelona it will complicate their life. We'll take to the field with that idea, and try to take advantage of the options we have for the game.”

That last comment refers to a crippling injury crisis at Spartak which could see Aiden McGeady, Romulo, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Artem Rebrov and Artem Dzyuba all miss out.

“Our players have been injured one after another, this is the reality. But the starting line-up will not be bad, we'll try to make do with the players we have.”
