City won’t bid for Falcao

Atletico Madrid have reportedly met with Manchester City to discuss Radamel Falcao, only to be told that the English won’t be bidding for the Colombian.

The striker has been linked with a move away from the Calderon since the end of last season with City alongside Chelsea and Real Madrid as rumoured destinations.

The Sunday Mirror report that, with the club keen to avoid Falcao following up his own rumoured interest with a move to cross-city rivals Madrid, general manager Miguel Angel Gil Marin and agent Jorge Mendes met with City sporting director Txiki Begiristain.

Said to have  during last weekend’s set of fixtures, the pair were reportedly told by the English champions that they will not be making a bid for the 26-year-old this winter, due to a full roster of strikers already on their books.
