Claudio pens new La Real deal

Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has penned a new deal at Anoeta that will see him linked to the club until June 2017.

Diario Vasco reports that the agreement, which was signed late on Thursday night, will not see a significant improvement in the shot-stoppers’ earnings but is an extension to a previous arrangement that tied him to the Txuri-urdin until 2015.

The announcement comes after the Chilean international is set to return to action following a fracture to his right arm on the eve of the Basque derby with Athletic Bilbao in late September.

Bravo has been with La Real since 2006 and despite relegation at the end of that season has remained loyal to the club that gave him the opportunity to play in Europe.

Since then the 29-year-old has made 166 La Liga appearances and become the third most-capped foreigner with the club behind Darko Kovacevic and Valery Karpin.
