Bojan Krkic and Ibrahim Afellay’s sales next summer could fund Barcelona’s move for Neymar in a way that would leave funds free for further purchases.
Barca are reported to have paid a €10m deposit on the Brazilian wunderkind last summer ahead of a further €30m payment any time through to the end of his contract in December 2014.
Mundo Deportivo believe that in terms of budget, a move next summer would be possible without spending anything from that transfer window’s budget, in light of several aspects.
First up, moves for Jordi Alba and Alex Song this summer are believed to have fallen €7m under the club’s summer spending budget of €40m.
This sum, added to the €10m asking price for Afellay, who Schalke have hinted they may bid for and the €15m clause for Milan to take Bojan permanently, would create a €32m fund free to use on Neymar, without eating into 2013’s summer spending budget.
