Pizzi remains positive

Deportivo La Coruna striker Luis 'Pizzi' Fernandes is exuding optimism despite the debilitating financial blow the club has suffered.

Earlier today it was reported that almost all of the Galician club's projected €18m income had been ring-fenced by the Spanish tax authorities. The consequences could be unpaid wages or worse, but Pizzi is remaining positive and looking forward to Saturday's visit to Real Zaragoza.

“We have not won away from home yet, and we know its very difficult, but we intend to put things right,” the former Sporting Braga employee stated at a Press conference.

“Zaragoza are in good form and have very good players. It's difficult to win or score at La Romareda.”

Pizzi will be in opposition to fellow Portuguese forward Helder Postiga on Saturday but another compatriot – teammate Nelson Oliveira – is out injured.

“Postiga is a great striker, with a lot of quality. Last year he had a great season, and the goal he scored against Real Madrid [last weekend] should have been given. I wish him all the best luck, but not on Saturday!

“All injuries are bad and hard to recover from, but the loss of Nelson is bad for the team because he was doing so much right. We are very sad for him, but he will recover.”
