Pellegrino banned for water-gate

The Competition Committee has handed Mauricio Pellegrino a two match ban after the Valencia Coach's touchline dismissal last Saturday.

The Argentine tactician was sent to the stands during his side's 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at Mestalla for throwing a bottle of water to the ground in protest at a decision.

Even Atletico boss Diego Simeone approached the officials to suggest the decision was wrong, but the committee have supported the referee's call.

They have also handed a two match ban to Pellegrino's assistant Carlos Compagnucci, but Atleti striker Radamel Falcao has had his yellow card rescinded. Valencia defender Ricardo Costa is not so lucky with his red.

The other players given bans for indiscretions last weekend are Osasuna's Ruben, Espanyol's Wakaso plus Malaga duo Martin Demichelis and Ignacio Camacho.
