Miku chides Getafe Chairman

On loan Celtic striker Miku has criticised Getafe President Angel Torres for treating him 'like a commodity.'

The frontman, full name Nicolas Fedor, scored 14 goals for the Azulones in La Liga last season but was allowed to join Celtic on loan in August, and could feature for the Glasgow club when they take on Barcelona in the Champions League tonight.

“I left Getafe in a bad way due to problems with the Chairman, despite the manager [Luis Garcia Plaza] wanting me to stay,” Miku told Marca.

“He wanted me to go to the Middle East and it was then I told my agent to act because I wanted to keep on playing top level football. I'm not over the hill yet. I still don't understand it.

“They tried various tricks and in the end I had to leave by the back door. Getafe's Chairman treated me like a commodity.”

The Venezuelan scored for his goal for the Celts last weekend and has been pleasantly surprised by the standard of football in Scotland.

“I am playing for a winning team and there are top class players here. The style of football here means there are a lot of injuries so I'm hopeful I'll get my chances.

“People think the Scottish Premier League is not as good as others but that is not the case. It is just as good as the English Premier League. The game is just as physical and the referees hardly ever blow their whistle for a foul.”
