Mourinho asks for El Shaarawy

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has asked his scouts to check out Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian striker, of Egyptian descent, has shouldered the burden of attacking responsibility for the Serie A giants this season following the departures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano, and it has not gone unnoticed by Mourinho.

The 20-year-old has notched six times in the last seven League games and now boasts seven from 10, besides scoring once in the Champions League, and has played more minutes so far this term than in the whole of last season.

Last August also saw his debut with the Italian national team, with whom he made his debut in a friendly against England, and it is understood Mourinho has asked for reports on both the player’s football and personal characteristics.

El Shaarawy’s market price has shot up considerably from the €10m he was valued at before the start of this season and the Portuguese is believed to have asked to be kept informed of the situation.
