Jimenez wants to win Copa for fans

Real Zaragoza Coach Manolo Jimenez has admitted he would love to win the Copa del Rey for the fans.

The 48-year-old tactician has tasted success whilst in charge at AEK Athens, but has conceded that winning the cup with the Blanquillos would be a dream come true.

“I love the cup,” he told a Press conference. “I've had success in Athens and that was great. To win it would be the absolute pinnacle.

“I know how much it means to the fans, so we will try to do our best for them.”

He also commented on Wednesday's opponents Granada, and the approach his side will take to the game.

“We want to win the game, and hopefully leave with a clean sheet,” he said. “Granada have a good squad with some good players. I don't think the League standings mean anything in this game. They will want to have a good cup run – that's all that matters.

“They are a strong team who will come here looking to win. What we have to do is try and believe in ourselves and hopefully not have a bad day.”

Real Zaragoza host Granada tomorrow evening, kick off at 19.00 BST.
