Djukic slams ‘awful’ Valladolid

Real Valladolid boss Miroslav Djukic slammed his players’ display in the 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad on Monday, calling it ‘awful’.

El Pucela twice came from behind against Philippe Montanier’s men through goals from Patrick Ebert and Oscar, with Djukic thankful his side had rescued a point from the game at the Nuevo Jose Zorrilla.

“I appreciate this point very much given we did not play well. In fact, we were awful,” the Serbian told a Press conference.

“We were insecure and played without thinking. Normally we lose these games and every single player needs to look at themselves individually. The only good thing was the point.

“We gave the ball away too much and this allowed them to play on the counter-attack. There wasn’t the defensive security that we should have had and we rushed things.

“Everyone wanted to play on their own. We were behind twice and it was very difficult to come back because of the way we were playing.

“At no time did we look sharp but luckily Oscar is on a roll,” he concluded.
