Valladolid’s action packed draw

Real Sociedad finally got their first away point as Antoine Griezmann struck twice in a thriller at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

Philippe Montanier's men had lost all four of their away games but knew this was a good opportunity to get off the mark.

Real Valladolid's Patrick Ebert caused danger from a set piece, forcing a save from Enaut Zubikarai with a right foot piledriver.

Javi Guerra then nodded an Ebert cross into Zubikarai's hands, before the visiting 'keeper gathered a swerving low shot struck by the German winger with some difficulty.

The hosts were playing well and Ebert was having an especially good game. However it was La Real who took a shock lead in the 31st minute, Griezmann spinning round and looping a volley into the net when a corner wasn't cleared effectively.

Miroslav Djukic's side levelled things up three minutes before the break and surprise surprise that man Ebert was responsible, collecting the ball 30 yards out and smacking a low drive into the bottom left corner.

Griezmann had a great chance to double his and Sociedad's tally at the dawn of the second half but blazed Carlos Vela's centre onto the crossbar.

But the Frenchman wasn't to be denied and made it 2-1 in the 57th minute, arrowing a left foot shot past Dani Hernandez from the edge of the box.

The latest twist in what was proving to be a scintillating game came with 15 minutes remaining, Oscar heading past Zubikarai after some exquisite assist work from Ebert, who flicked the ball up and lobbed it over the defence.

Sociedad almost snatched a win with an outrageous long range lob in the 93rd minute but the back pedalling Hernandez pulled off a stunning save to tip it over the bar, and it ended 2-2.
