Malaga owner Sheikh Al-Thani has promised more investment in the club after witnessing the 1-0 Champions League win over Milan.
Al-Thani has not been seen at La Rosaleda since the final day of last season amid rumours that he had put the club up for sale.
Since then the Qatari has been conspicuous by his silence but after jetting into the Costa del Sol to watch Los Blanquiazules dispose of Massimiliano Allegri’s side and virtually guarantee passage to the knockout stage, it appears he may have changed his tune.
“Of course we are going to invest. The club has a future,” was his message to fans via the Canal Plus microphones before the game.
Afterwards he showed his satisfaction at the performance of Manuel Pellegrini’s team.
“I’d like to congratulate the players, the Coach and above all the fans for their support. Congratulations to everybody,” he said.
