Ronaldo philosophical over Borussia

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was in philosophical mood following his team’s 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

The Portuguese striker got Madrid’s only goal against the Germans but felt Borussia’s 64th minute winner from Marcel Schmelzer had a little bit of good fortune about it.

“There are still a lot of games left and we are in a good position,” claimed Ronaldo to assembled reporters.

“We knew it would be a difficult game against a team who are very strong at home, but football is like that. When you play against the top teams then the chances of winning are 50-50, although I thought their winner had a bit of luck about it.

“We were aware that away from home it gets even tougher to win games.”

Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira had to come off injured after 20 minutes and Ronaldo thought that also contributed to the defeat.

“It was unfortunate for Sami and it didn’t help us but that’s part of being a footballer,” he added.
