Milan should have drawn says Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri felt his side should have got at least a draw from their Champions League clash with Malaga.

The under pressure Milan boss saw his struggling side fall five points behind the Costa del Sol club in Group C after Joaquin Sanchez made amends for his earlier penalty miss by firing home a 64th minute winner.

“A draw would have been fairer. In the first half we had three or four chances when we failed with the final pass,” he told a post-match Press conference.

“After that an error cost us a goal and from then onwards we began to lose too much of the ball.”

Allegri admitted that Malaga were now favourites to progress to the knockout stage and defended the defensive formation he went into the game with.

“We have not lost our composure and are now looking forward to the next League game against Genoa.

“The system we used was one we have tried before. We wanted to show our superiority from the start and in the first half it went quite well.

“However, in the second half we struggled with it,” he added.
