Granada confirm stadium agreement

Granada have confirmed the details behind their agreement with the local city council that will see them continue to use Los Carmenes.

The Andalucian side had threatened at the weekend to move out of the ground as talks over how much they would pay the council, who own the stadium, for maintenance stalled.

However, the two parties came to an agreement earlier this week and today they confirmed the details of the deal signed until June 2014.

Granada will pay €100,000 a year for maintenance and electricity and will pay the first €50,000 towards the new electric scoreboard being installed, in exchange for a 50 per cent share in future profits.

The club will also pay a 60 per cent share towards cleaning and will cover all security costs during games, whilst the council retain a third of the seats in the President’s box.
