Lewandowski: I hope Pepe plays clean

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski says he hopes Real Madrid defender Pepe sticks to the rules on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga outfit face Jose Mourinho’s men in a Champions League clash at the Westfalenstadion and, while saying he does not fear the Spanish champions, the Polish international is hoping there are no problems with Pepe.

“I don’t fear them, I can assure you of that,” Lewandowski declared in an interview published by AS.

“I know perfectly well what their defenders are like but I’m not scared of them. I only hope Pepe plays clean and that there are no problems with him…”

Borussia are coming off the back of a League defeat to Schalke and Lewandowski is aware it is going to be a tough game against Los Blancos.

“I won’t be easy but I expect it to be a spectacle and that I hope it ends in victory for us.”

Lewandowski explained that he has always idolised Thierry Henry and that he even puts him above Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while having some advice for the latter.

“To get to his [Henry’s] level Cristiano must work harder than Messi,” he asserted.
