Cesc: I understand Tito now

Cesc Fabregas maintains he now knows what Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova is demanding from him.

In an interview with RAC1, the former Arsenal man confessed that he is now beginning to feel more comfortable in Vilanova’s tactical system.

“I now understand what he wants. I know he wants to me to hold my position more and he doesn’t need me to run up and down so much,” explained Fabregas, who gave as an example the recent match at Sevilla where he scored two of Barca’s three goals.

He also had kind words for two of his teammates, Eric Abidal and Alex Song.

“Eric has a great sense of humour and lots of strength, which have helped him through such a difficult time [following his liver transplant]. If anybody can get back playing football then it is him.

“As for Alex, I’m convinced he will become a great central defender with Barcelona. He has always done what he said he would and has not come here to complain or to demand a first-team spot.”
