Valencia captain David Albelda believes it is unfair to blame Coach Mauricio Pellegrino for the club's poor start to the season.
The veteran midfielder has called for the squad to step up their performances after picking up just eight points from their first seven games.
“It is unfair to lay the blame purely on the Coach,” he told AS. “Especially when the squad have made errors.
“We have to remain together through good times and bad, and take the blame for what has gone wrong.
“Everyone has to give their best from now on, and improve their concentration – because a lot of goals this season have come from a lack of concentration. And our Coach can't do anything about that.”
Valencia will hope to get their campaign back on track this weekend as they host Athletic Bilbao at Mestalla.
