Valencia's chief physio Gabriel Macaya has claimed that Ever Banega could return for Los Che against Atheltic Bilbao on Saturday October 20.
The Argentine midfielder required ankle surgery back in February after running himself over in his own car. And Macaya has confirmed that the 24-year-old should make a first-team comeback against Marcelo Bielsa's team.
“Banega did not have a football injury and therefore is not afraid of a relapse,” he told Radio Marca. “His problem should not return.
“Ever is very close to playing. We are evaluating if he could play against Athletic at Mestalla.”
The trainer also spoke about Sergio Canales, who underwent knee surgery back in April.
“With Canales we should not put a time on his comeback,” he said. “Sergio is a smart player, so hopefully, by the end of the year, we will see him return to light training.”
