Sevilla winger Piotr Trochowski admits that the severity of his knee injury is a blow that he wasn’t expecting.
The midfielder initially suffered the injury when in action for his team at home to Barcelona, whilst yesterday it was revealed that damage to the knee was far worse than originally thought.
Trochowski faces up to four months out now as he requires surgery – due today – on a ‘detached ligament’ in the joint.
“I’m not very well, I did not expect the injury would be like it is, I’m sure [on Wednesday] it will look better,” the player told Sevilla TV in reaction to the news.
“In the end it was not improving so we decided to take this step and know we know that it was more serious.
“We cannot say how long I will be out for, we have to talk to the specialist and wait for the operation in order to know.”
