Barragan backs Pellegrino

Valencia fullback Antonio Barragan says boss Mauricio Pellegrino has his 'full confidence' despite Los Che's slow start.

After losing the derby 1-0 to city rivals Levante on Sunday the Mestalla club go into the international break 14th in La Liga and with some serious questions being asked about their Argentine Coach's competency.

“We've got a few less points than a team like Valencia usually gets,” the former Liverpool defender confessed in a press conference. “But we are calm because we know we will succeed.

“Pellegrino has enough experience to be quiet. He has our full confidence and together we will work to bring Valencia forward.”

Barragan is already looking forward to the home game against Athletic Bilbao in a week and a half's time.

“We want to be 100 per cent – both mentally and physically – against Athletic, in order to get three points.”
