Former Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez believes Arsenal would be the perfect choice of club for Pep Guardiola.
The Mexican, now with New York Red Bulls, insists Guardiola will return to football and will do so in the Premier League, with the Gunners’ style the perfect match.
“I don’t think it will be long before Guardiola is back. I see him coaching in the Premier League, in England, and at Arsenal he would fit in perfectly,” said Marquez in an interview with La Graderia.
Marquez currently resides in New York, where Guardiola is taking time out from the game through his self-imposed sabbatical, but the 33-year-old acknowledges that the pair hardly have any contact.
“I’ve still not had the opportunity to see Pep yet. I did have contact with him but only to help him settle into the city,” he revealed.
