Mata trusts in Spain recall

Chelsea winger Juan Mata is confident his return to the Spain squad will come if he keeps up the good form.

The 24-year-old is a surprise exclusion from Vicente del Bosque's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and France, despite playing very well for his club, supplying two assists in the Blues latest win over Norwich.

“I have to go forward and trust in the call,” the former Valencia man is quoted as saying in AS.

“I always try to give my best in every practice and every game, to be at the highest level. I think that's what led me to be at an important club like Chelsea and enjoying top level football.

“Therefore, that's what I'm going to keep doing, not taking anything for granted and and working and training as usual.”

Mata, who has scored 6 goals in 19 senior Spain appearances, revealed that he has not spoken to Del Bosque regarding the exclusion.
