Valencia’s Jonas described strike partner Roberto Soldado as incredible following the 2-0 Champions League victory over Lille.
The Brazilian attacker scored both Los Che’s goals in the win over the French side but reserved particular praise for Spanish international Soldado in assisting him for the first.
“Soldado is incredible and he played an amazing one-two for my first goal. He was responsible for 50 per cent of it,” Jonas told Canal Plus, whilst also affirming that result was a confidence booster for Mauricio Pellegrino’s men.
“These are three very important points that keep us alive in this competition. This win has given us confidence, which is the most important thing.
“Two consecutive victories have left us very happy, more free to express ourselves.”
Jonas admitted, however, that his second goal was the result of a cross that crept in rather than a shot on goal.
“Yes it’s true that it was a centre but a change of luck will be good for us,” he claimed.
“Now we need to rest before trying to beat BATE Borisov in our next Champions League game, because they will be fighting to qualify for the next stage alongside us.”
