Cameroon call up Malaga teen

Malaga striker Fabrice Olinga has received his first call-up for the Cameroon national team at the tender age of 16.

The teenager has been summoned by Coach Jean-Paul Akono for the second leg of the Indomitable Lions African Cup of Nations qualification play-off against Cape Verde. The Cameroonians desperately need a result in Yaounde having lost the first leg 2-0.

Fabrice shot to fame on the opening day of the season when he became the youngest goalscorer in La Liga history, hitting Malaga's winner away to Celta Vigo aged 16 years and 98 days.

Ironically the call comes on the day he has been excluded from Los Boquerones squad for Wednesday's Champions League game against Anderlecht.

“I have no words to reveal my joy, now to enjoy this story so special to me," said the youngster on his twitter profile.

Having lived in Spain since 2009 Fabrice could have been eligible for the Spanish national team at some point, but that will no longer be a possibility if he features against Cape Verde.
